Human and Artificial Intelligence
for social good

연세대학교 인간과인공지능연구실

The Human Artificial Intelligence Research Lab studies how people and AI work together — designing trustworthy, human-centered AI so that data and intelligence create value that genuinely benefits society.

About the Lab

A data-science lab
for social good

We study the collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence — so that data and AI create value that is genuinely beneficial to society.

The Human Artificial Intelligence Research (HAIR) Lab is an interdisciplinary group based at Yonsei University's Underwood International College and the Department of Innovation, Yonsei Graduate School. Our work spans data science, human-computer interaction, and computational social science.

Mission & Vision

Why we do this

Mission

To study the collaboration between humans and AI, contributing to making data and AI create beneficial value for society — AI for social good.

Vision

To design and evaluate human-centered AI, setting the standard for trustworthy and sustainable human–AI collaboration.

Research Areas

What we study

Centered on the interaction between humans and AI, spanning data science, HCI, and computational social science.

01

Human–AI Interaction & Trust

Trust in AI, explainability, human-automation interaction, and human-centered design — including voice agents and chatbots.

02

LLM & Multi-Agent Systems

LLM agent-based policy simulation, multi-agent norm and moral dynamics, autonomous meta-analysis, and hallucination mitigation.

03

Computational Social Science & NLP

Text mining, semantic and topic-network analysis, news and media analysis, and hate-speech detection.

04

AI Ethics, Governance & Sustainability

Harmonizing AI ethics with the legal system, machine ethics, the social sustainability of AI, and digital government.

05

AI for Science & Meta-research

Automated meta-analysis, research reproducibility, technology forecasting, and data-driven, predict-then-optimize design.

06

Applications

Healthcare (ER triage and overcrowding), education, design and makerspace, and generative AI in culture.
